Using Blogs

Blogs are poweful, but can be extremely boring and tedious as well. I would think hard about how the blog will be used, and who will be reading it as well as why.

Library purchase request blog

One idea we are currently working on is to institute a library purchase request blog. This will make the process more transparent and will also provide a track of decisions. The requestor can be notified via RSS that someone has answered their post. The librarian will either accept the request of reject it—with rationale included. This is great for the patron, staff, and collection development (At least the way we envision the blog).
